a book on HFA concrete written so we can all understand it. I will make this required
reading by everyone in Tech Services, Operations, and Sales. This
is an excellent and informative primer on high-performance fly ash concrete. This
is a "win-win" use of a plentiful man-made waste product that generates
benefits to clients, engineers and the global environment. We
have found that HVFAC is better concrete, easier to use, and less likely to crack.
It makes our customers and engineers happy, so it makes us happy. It is not complicated
or all that different than regular concrete. In fact, as Bruce King explains,
many of the basic principles required to place successful HVFAC also apply to
regular concrete, such as, keeping the water ratios low and implementing reasonable
curing practices. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
